Marian High School is an independent, Catholic, secondary school. Founded by the Archdiocese of Boston, the cornerstone was laid in 1954 and the first class of freshmen walked through its doors on September 4, 1956. Since 2004, Marian has been governed by its own independent Board of Trustees. Marian is a co-educational, college preparatory school for grades 9-12, enrolling students from the MetroWest area of Boston.
Marian is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and is affiliated with the following organizations: National Catholic Educational Association; National Association of Secondary School Principals; Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association; Catholic Secondary Schools Administrative Curriculum Committee; and many other professional organizations.
